October 27, 2008About 3:30 on Sunday morning, October 26, 2008, a man driving west on Sunrise Highway, Freeport, crashed into a curbside utility pole and a tree before reaching Brookside Avenue. Sadly, he died. The newsday.com story is here.

October 18, 2008More than an hour before dawn on Thursday, October 16, 2008, a driver sadly lost her life on Sunrise Highway westbound at Merrick Avenue. A gasoline tank truck was stopped at a red light, and she crashed into it. The newsday.com story is here.
Plandome Road, 10.3.2008
October 5, 2008About 3 a.m. on Friday, October 3, two cars apparently collided while southbound on Plandome Road, according to newsday.com here. Unfortunately, a passenger in one car died when it hit a tree. The other car also hit a tree. Plandome Road curves from west to south near there. The driver of the car with the fatality was charged with DWI.
