Sad to report, a bicyclist was killed as he pedaled west on Central Avenue, Bethpage, on the afternoon of Monday, June 8, 2009. The intersection of Central Avenue and Stewart Avenue is controlled by traffic signals. Both streets are wide. The cyclist lost his life when he was hit by a dump truck traveling on Stewart Avenue.
