November 22, 2008

What heartbreak!  Near the Inwood Post Office about 5 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2008, a woman and her six-year-old son were using one of the crosswalks at the intersection of Doughty Blvd. and Morris Avenue.  A car turned left off Doughty Blvd onto Morris Avenue, hitting both persons, killing the mother.  Apparently, as Morris Avenue goes only west from Doughty Blvd., the vehicle was turning from north to west.  The driver kept going and was not captured.  The account is at newsday.com here.
