Sad to relate, a driver was killed westbound on Dutch Broadway about 5:15 on Thursday afternoon, May 1, 2008. On this straight street, he lost control of his car and slammed into a tree at the corner of 238th Street, according to newsday.com However, on May 16 a judge held the driver of another car on a million dollars’ bail. Although the two cars did not collide, this was a two-car accident! It was a street race. The other driver was charged with reckless endangerment and leaving the scene of an accident.
